    EYE VIOLENCE

Eye violence is the systematic act whereby agents of a state’s armed forces decide to fire their weapons against the bodies of people who are protesting, causing permanent eye injuries in the lives of survivors of eye violence. This type of violence is exercised systematically and indiscriminately in various countries; these are not isolated acts, nor do they stem solely from the individual decisions of officials. Rather, they are shaped within the ideological framework under which a state’s armed forces are trained, who see protesters as “internal enemies” who must be punished as an example to teach society a lesson, an “exemplary punishment.”
