International survivors of ocular violence meeting

The first international gathering of survivors of eye violence has as its general objective to make visible this systematic action that violates the human rights of protesters around the world. Likewise, this space for gathering aims to produce a roadmap that makes it possible to bring eye violence to light and eradicate it through multiple actions.

This gathering aims to develop three cross-cutting pillars that will guide the work during the First International Gathering of Victims of Eye Trauma.

1. Systematization of experiences: To create a space for dialogue and exchange among victims from different international contexts, with the purpose of identifying common patterns and particularities in the attacks suffered, as well as addressing individual and collective coping strategies.

2. Expert panels – Survivors of eye violence: To facilitate victims’ access to conceptual, legal, medical, and technical tools, through panels made up of national and international experts.
